"I Will Graft in Unto Them the Branches of Their Mother Tree"

Thank you, Lord

for loving me enough to save me

For looking upon my frostbitten, withering branches

Surrendering dormant to this season of winter

This season of cold and drought

This season of fruitlessness in faith

And instead of plucking me up

instead of pulling me down

Seeing the fruit that I was made to grow

And vowing to build on my roots

For seeing that they are good

For remembering my Mother

That my roots are in Her

That my growth could be Her growth

That my fruit could be Her fruit

That Her branches could be the healing balm I need

Thank you, Lord of the vineyard

For looking at me and seeing Her

For grafting Her branches in unto me

For remembering that we are both from the olive tree

Thank you, Mother

For sacrificing your branches for my growth

For tying them to my wounds

Your sap the healing balm I need

Letting me grow and heal around your limb

Making it my own

An extension of you that grows within me

For showing me the fruit which you have born,

Which is most precious, which is sweet above all that is sweet,

For giving me a model that I could grow after

For showing me the tree that I could be

Thank you, Mother

For giving me life

For saving me

For teaching me that I am from the olive tree

“And, behold, the roots of the natural branches of the tree which I planted whithersoever I would are yet alive; wherefore, that I may preserve them also for mine own purpose, I will take of the branches of this tree, and I will graft them in unto them. Yea, I will graft in unto them the branches of their mother tree, that I may preserve the roots also unto mine own self, that when they shall be sufficiently strong perhaps they may bring forth good fruit unto me, and I may yet have glory in the fruit of my vineyard.” Jacob 5:54

Jeremiah 24: 6 “For I will set mine eyes upon them for good, and I will bring them again to this land: and I will build them, and not pull them down; and I will plant them, and not pluck them up.”

1 Nephi:16 “Behold, I say unto you, Yea; they shall be remembered again among the house of Israel; they shall be grafted in, being a natural branch of the olive tree, into the true olive tree.”
