Thin is Her veil
It falls over Her skin
Softening its glow
Dimming Her light from a blinding bright
To a warm luminance
That calls us away from shielding our gaze
To focusing our eyes instead
Squinting Intently
Drawing nearer
Until we can make out Her figure
Until She comes into focus
Slowly and slightly
We peel back Her veil
One peek at a time
Letting our eyes and hearts and spirits adjust to Her light
Until we are prepared to see Her in Her fullness
