As if it were their own,
Ignoring its divine value.
They took my voice
And made it mute,
As if it had no power.
They took my agency
And fed me force,
As if God and Eve hadn't fought so hard to gift it to me.
They took my joy
As though I was not created to have it,
And replaced it with grief.
Replaced it with sorrow.
Replaced it with shame.
Replaced it with darkness.
An exchange so heavy I thought it would crush me.
And then I remembered that they did the same to my Mother,
And She still sits on Her throne,
Queen of Her own body.
